Google Chromcast looks like a USB pen drive and it’s easy to use. Just plug the device into HDMI port of your TV. The device has a microUSB port which needs to be connected to another USB port to power itself. Then select HDMI option and follow the instructions how to connect to Wi-Fi network. Then install the Chromecast app on your smartphone, tablet or PC and run the app and follow the instructions to connect the device to the adapter. Once the process is completed, you are ready to stream all the content from your smartphone, tablet or PC to your TV. Other free apps like EZCast, LocalCast and RealPlayer Cloud also allows you to media content from your tablet or smartphone. It is available on eBay and Amazon for around Rs. 3,000 INR.

Apple TV is specifically designed to stream videos, photos and other media content from iOS or Android devices. To work with Apple TV, first you need to install app like Plex, PlayTo or Apple TV AirPlay Media Player on your smartphone or tablet. You can subscribe to different channels, buy or rent movies on iTunes via this player but it doesn’t allow you to store anything on it.
